Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Journal of Sports Sciences referee evaluation process is approximately 3 weeks. This period may decrease or increase depending on the intensity of the referees.

The articles submitted to the journal are sent to two referees who have studies on the subject of the article and are specialized in the field. The article is evaluated and finalized according to the blind refereeing system.

Factors that referees should take into consideration in article evaluation

It is necessary to check whether the research complies with the journal's rules.

It should be evaluated whether the research contributes to the field of science.

The method section of the research should be scrutinized and the appropriateness of the chosen method should be examined.

In the research, especially in qualitative and quantitative research, attention should be paid to the correct evaluations regarding the concepts of study group, population and sampling.

The analyzes conducted in the research should be examined in a cause and effect relationship.

Particular attention should be paid to the use of the concepts of validity and reliability in research, and it should be checked whether these concepts are used appropriately in qualitative and quantitative research.

The discussion and conclusion section should be supported by similar and different sources and the author should give his/her comments on the result.

It should be checked whether the bibliography is written according to the journal writing rules.

The time period given to the referees can be extended in line with the requests of the referees.

After all these checks are made, it should be uploaded to the system as an additional document. It should be ensured that the file uploaded to the system contains objective evaluations of the article.
