Antrenörlerin Narsistik Kişilik Özellikleri ile Yeterlilik Düzeyleri Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, spor ortamında etkilerinin olabileceği düşünülmekte olan antrenörlerin narsistik kişilik özellikleri ile yeterlilik düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma grubunu, farlı branşlarda (okçuluk, tekvando, fitness, atletizm, yüzme, futbol, basketbol, voleybol, buz hokeyi) görev alan 122' si erkek 80' i kadın olmak üzere toplam 202 antrenör oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada, Atay (2009) tarafından Türkçe' ye uyarlanan Narsistik Kişilik Envanteri (NPI), Unutmaz ve Gençer'in (2017) geçerlik ve güvenirliklerini yaparak Türkçe’ye uyarladıkları Antrenör Yeterlilik Ölçeği-II ve Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Analiz sürecinde, ikili gurupların karşılaştırılmasında T-Test, üç ve daha fazla bağımsız grupların karşılaştırılmasında ise ANOVA ve Post Hoc Tukey Testtin'den yararlanılmıştır. Antrenörlerin narsistik kişilik özellikleri ile yeterlilik düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymak için Pearson Corelation analizi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada, cinsiyet değişkenine göre, fiziksel kondisyon ve oyun stratejileri boyutlarında kadın antrenörlerin, karakter oluşumu boyutunda ise, erkek antrenörlerin değerlerinin daha yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir (p< 0.05). Spor kategorisi değişkeni açısından incelendiğinde ise, bireysel ve takım sporlarında görev alana antrenörlerin, yeterlilik düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir fark saptanmamıştır (p > 0.05). Antrenörlerin, narsistik kişilik (sömürücülük, otorite ve üstünlük) özellikleri ile yeterlilik düzeyleri arasında anlamlı ilişki belirlenirken (p< 0.05), narsistik kişiliğin diğer özellikleri (teşhircilik, hak iddia etme ve kendine yeterlilik) ile antrenör yeterlilik düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olamadığı belirlenmiştir (p > 0.05).

Investigation of the Relationship Between the Coaches Narcissistic Personality Traits and Their Competence Levels

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between the proficiency levels of trainers and narcissistic personality traits, which are thought to have effects in the sports environment. The working group consists of a total of 202 trainers, 122 of whom are men, 80 of whom are women, working in different branches (archery, taekwondo, fitness, athletics, swimming, football, basketball, volleyball, ice hockey). In the study, Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI), which was adapted to Turkish by Atay (2009), Coach Proficiency Scale-II, which Unutmaz and Gençer (2017) adapted to Turkish by making validity and reliability .and Personal Information Form was used. During the analysis process, the T-Test was used to compare paired groups, ANOVA and Post Hoc Tukey Tests were used to compare three or more independent groups. Pearson Corelation analysis was used to reveal the relationship between coaching competency levels and narcissistic personality traits. According to the findings of the study, it was determined that female coaches had higher values in the dimension of physical condition and game strategies, and male coaches in the dimension of character formation. (p <0.05). It was determined that there is no significant difference between the proficiency levels individual and team sports coaches (p> 0.05). While a significant correlation was determined between the narcissistic personality (exploitative, authority, and superiority) traits and their competence levels (p <0.05), it was determined that there was no significant relationship between the other characteristics of the narcissistic personality (exhibitionism, claiming rights, and self-efficacy) and trainer efficacy levels ( p> 0.05).
