FİLOZOF DOKTORLARDAN MODERNİTEYE SPORCU BESLENMESİ

Year 2020, Volume: 14 Issue: 2, 246 - 255, 03.08.2020

Abstract

Günümüz sporcu beslenmesinin temellerine ait ilk kanıtlar antik döneme ait eserlerden elde edilmektedir. Antik Mısır, Yunan ve Roma uygarlıklarında atletlerin diyetleri, medeniyetlerinin beslenme özelliklerini yansıtmakta olup coğrafi bölge, iklim şartları, gıda maddelerine ulaşılabilirlik durumlarına göre farklılık göstermelerine rağmen, vejetaryen beslenme ve et ağırlıklı beslenme olarak iki farklı diyet uygulandığı anlaşılmaktadır. Araştırmada Antik dönemde filozof doktorların tavsiyeleri ve uygulamalar doğrultusunda antik atletlerin beslenme yöntemlerinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Teorik çerçeve oluşturulurken atletlerin beslenmelerine yönelik çeşitli epigrafik kayıtlara başvurulmuş ve alandaki kaynak eserler taranarak atletlerin beslemelerine yönelik bilgilere ve görsellere ulaşılmıştır. Ulaşılan veriler değerlendirilerek araştırmanın amaçları doğrultusunda yorumlanmıştır. Antik dönem atletlerinin beslenme yöntemleri ile günümüz modern beslenme yöntemleri arasında gıda maddeleri açısından fark bulunmadığı, besin maddelerine ulaşım kolaylığı ve çeşitlilik açısında antik döneme göre zenginleştiği, bunun yanında ergojenik yardımcılar olarak adlandırılan gıda destek ürünlerinin kullanılmaya başlandığı sonucuna varılmıştır.
